By the way...
I might not be modeling too much throughout this pregnancy. I met with a maternity agency and they wanted me to be with them exclusively even a year after giving birth (????!!!!!). If something comes up with my current agencies, then I'll audition, but I think it's kind of rare. So, needless to say, it looks like I'll be taking some time off from the job and just enjoying being pregnant. Still working of course, but doing other things. (Check out glutenfreedaily.com : ) )
I will be doing an appearance at the women of perfection show in Torrance on April 25th from 12-6. Come out and visit me! I'll be there with Patricia Kara, Leyla Milani and Lisa Gleave. It'll be fun!! (www.womenofperfection.com)
Active Momma!
I've been going crazy having to tone down my workout since becoming pregnant. I'm used to very high energy classes like kickboxing, step, spin etc. Thankfully today I discovered my gym's pre/postnatal step class (it's so cute...some Mommies come in with their strollers and the babies just watch. I love it!). It's such an amazing workout, but doesn't get your heart rate up high enough to impact the baby in a negative way. They say as long as you have one foot on the ground at all times, you're good....?! I'm trying to be very cautious with everything however, there's only so much I can take of the elliptical and walking on the treadmill. I say, if you're pregnant, find some good prenatal classes in your area. Yoga, pilates and other low impact exercises are great as long as you don't have a high risk pregnancy. Something to keep you active throughout your pregnancy. They say you'll have an easier labor if you do. We'll see...I hope so!
It's a boy!
Well, it's confirmed...we're having a boy! Went in for an ultrasound yesterday and he's now 10 oz. Also, started taking baby care classes last night with my friend Wendy (who's 32 weeks pregnant....I'm 18 weeks today. Guess I'm a little early, but I'm just so excited : ) ).
Not really noticing a change in appetite except for the fact that chicken and veggies do NOT sound good. It's so hard because this is the time my body needs that more than anything.
However yesterday, I came up with the perfect way to get my veggies and fruits in. It's all due to my juicer (I have the Breville and I love it. I think it's under $100, too) It's one of my favorite tools in the kitchen. If I don't feel like eating my veggies, I'll drink them. I know it sounds gross, but I want to share with you my favorite concoction!
I juiced 10 ounces of spinach, 8 ounces of pineapple (I use frozen, chopped pineapple to save time and just defrosted it) and 2 apples. It comes out electric green and from the looks of it, you'd probably be scared to drink it. However, this is the best drink I've ever made. You don't even taste the spinach. Try it, you'll love it!
At least for me now, it's one of the only way I can get my veggies in. Otherwise, I throw 'em in here and there. Spinach in my egg whites or grated zucchini when I'm baking gluten free muffins. I guess these are goods tricks to know if my kids aren't liking veggies!
Just had to share!!
